The Chesterfield Group, which draws its members from a wide radius (Buxton, Sheffield, Wath on Dearn, Wirksworth) as well as Chesterfield itself, originated at St Mark’s Sheffield and has been meeting for several years, originally under the leadership of the late John Siimmonds. It meets most months, usually on a Friday morning around 10 and finishes with BYO lunch. We appreciate that a day-time rendezvous excludes people. And we meet in each other’s homes, which means we cannot easily grow, but in principle we would welcome enquiries and could adapt. The latest book we have looked at is ‘Silence’, by Diarmaid MacCulloch, but our oldest member at 92 finds the print very small, and it is not an easy read. There was also interest in a paper written by one of our members about the current situation Any questions? To Jill and Paul King on email@example.com We are looking forward to the advent of the films.
