Tuesday 6 October 2015
This is our first meeting of the year! It is our tradition not to have a set topic for our first meeting, but rather have a more friendly pop-by-and-chat kind of get together.

"Evil, no less"
Sunday 4 October 2015
Ian will make a critical look at the meaning of the word 'Salvation'. For example, Marcus Borg has emphasised that it is about our lives day by day and that interpreting it only about saving from hell after death is a distortion of the word as used in the bible.
Wednesday 30 September 2015
We'll be taking part in a buffet organised by the University chaplaincy, good occasion to meet some group staff.
Monday 28 September 2015
Our first meeting after the summer break will focus on the future direction of the group. Miriam Walton, the current Convenor, is standing down this autumn after more than 3 years in the role. Miriam lives in Shrewsbury and would like to pass on the leadership of the group to someone more local to Albrighton.
Monday 28 September 2015
This, our first Edinburgh group meeting of the new session, will be introduced by Jim Mein, a member of the group, and a long-time Episcopal priest and former Dean of Edinburgh. He plans to help us explore the 8 points, which reflect not a statement of faith, but the values and priorities underlying the PCN network. The timing seems appropriate as we begin a new year's programme, and also because the 8 points have been revised and updated nationally within the last year. All are - as always - welcome, whether members of PCN or not, and whether church members or not.
Wednesday 23 September 2015
This is a talk by the Australian author, Rex Hunt. One of the commonest pleas we hear from progressive Christians is a yearning for more progressive worship materials. Rex Hunt stands out as someone who is writing new hymns, prayers and liturgies.
Monday 21 September 2015
Sue Goddard will lead a discussion entitled ' Belonging not Believing'. A relevant article from the Church Times has been circulated to group members beforehand and is available by contacting the convenor.
Monday 21 September 2015
This is the launch event for the new Brighton group and we're meeting in a well known watering hole, Le Pub. All are welcome. The subject will be introduced by the lead chaplain of the University of Sussex, Chris McDermott.
Saturday 19 September 2015 — Saturday 26 September 2015
SADLY THIS EVENT IS NOW FULLY BOOKED.
Do we need a choir? Must there always be a sermon? Is ‘words, words, words’ the only way? Are pews inflexible? If we change anything will people be angry forever? These and other questions will be opened up as John Bell and Graham Maule, drawing on positive experience, suggest some viable alternatives.
Tuesday 15 September 2015
Saturday 12 September 2015
James Dunn is a frontline Pauline scholar and a regular preacher and member of St Paul’s very liberal congregation. An engaging day is anticipated.
