Muslim views of Jesus
Sunday 4 March 2018
WHAT MUSLIMS THINK OF CHRISTIAN STATEMENTS ABOUT JESUS.
In a leaflet put out by Muslims in Uganda, there are arguments including bible quotes against what Christians say about Jesus. For example, that Jesus is God, or Jesus is (literally) the Son of God, or that his miraculous birth without a human father proves the divinity of Jesus.
We shall examine what this leaflet says, including the claim that Islam has simple, clear and pure teachings of the concept of God, compared to the complex issues around God and Jesus that we find in Christianity.

What motivates us?
Friday 23 February 2018
The basic theme for this meeting is "What gets you up in the morning?"
We will start by asking those who would like to, to share any thoughts about what actually gets us out of bed, from personal observation.
We will then take the discussion to the impact of our spiritual beliefs on our lives in general. Some evangelical Christians are motivated by the belief that only Christians are 'saved'. This is a real motivation to convert as many people as possible, especially family and friends. But for us, if we are followers of Jesus, do our beliefs give us an aspiration for an equal passion, albeit for an alternative purpose? What purpose?
This is an opportunity for each of us to reflect on our deeper motivations in life. To what extent do religious or spiritual beliefs actually play a part in our everyday living?
