Bonhoeffer revisited
Wednesday 14th August 2013
I believe that the most important contribution made by Bishop John Robinson in 'Honest to God' was the introduction of German Theologians of the early 20th century. In particular Bonhoeffer, Bultmann and Tillich. The 'Cornflakes Theology' group will spend the next few meetings examining some of their insights, beginning with Bonhoeffer. Hopefully this will in some way throw some light on the concerns which many people have regarding the pastoral problems raised by the fact that the tradition about Jesus comes down to us in a 'mythological' form. This particular issue raises in an acute form the whole issue of how the Christian Gospel is to be communicated in the modern world. Raymond Eveleigh
