Setting Jesus Free (and us!)

A day’s workshop led by PCN chair, John Churcher, based around the themes of his new book, “Setting Jesus Free”.
Albrighton is 10 miles from Wolverhampton, just over the border into Shropshire.

Start Date:
Tuesday 18th June 2024
Start Time:
St Mary's Church Centre, Albrighton, Wolverhampton, West Midlands
David Cotterell
01902 373660
Revd John Churcher, chair of PCN Britain

Part of John’s message – and of the message of PCN Britain - is to say
• That we have found an approach to God through the life and teachings of Jesus
• That we should present Jesus in terms that make sense to an educated, twenty-first century mind.
• That when freed from stultifying doctrines and dogmas, the teachings and example of Jesus make as much sense today as they did in the first century
• That radical thinking should be encouraged rather than seen as a threat.
PCN Britain is inter-denominational – John is a Methodist minister – and does not seek to promote a “new church”. He does not say that everyone should be drawn away from the traditional and comfortable but that everyone should be free to explore new thinking.
