Group Meeting – Talking Philosophy
Thursday 13 January 2022 — Sunday 27 February 2022

We will discuss topics central to philosophy (knowledge, mind and body, and free-will) and engage philosophically with topics of very general interest (sex, war, and death).
- Start Date:
- Thursday 13th January 2022
- Start Time:
- 12:00AM
- Speakers:
- Andrew Jack
- Host:
- Woodbrook College
- Cost:
- £60
We will take as our starting point Thomas Nagel’s very clear introduction “What Does It All Mean?”. Other short readings of interest to Quakers will be available, avoiding dry academic texts. In our discussions we will try to be clear, without turning away from difficult problems. We will try to practice simplicity and integrity when engaging with difficult philosophical issues. No previous knowledge – or lack of knowledge – will be assumed.
The start date for the course is when the online content and discussion forum becomes available; you can work on this material at any time to suit you.
13 January 2022 - 27 February 2022
Live sessions are every Wednesday at 19:00-20:30 (UK time)
