We are a new group, newly affiliated to the national Progressive Christianity Network. Attenders need not describe themselves as Christians in order to attend; anybody interested in spirituality and religion generally will find themselves welcome so long as they are inclusive and respectful of others’ approaches and ideas. Going forward we welcome others to lead sessions or aspects of sessions, as they are able.”
There is no cost, however any donation to help to sustain The Chapel will be gratefully received.
The aims of the group are:
To explore how progressive Christian thinking, values, living and practice might fully manifest themselves in our lives.
To share in Christian- based contemplative and meditative practices.
To support each other in regular reading, including but not exclusive to Biblical scripture and to share in discussion about the interpretation and implications of such reading.
To explore some of the progressive academic approaches, historical and scientific discoveries, personal experiences and ideas that fall within the broad framework of the Christian tradition.
To contemplate and enjoy how progressive Christian ideas are expressed through artistic expression.
To provide a loving, respectful community that functions as part of the inclusive nature of The Chapel and which sits in line with the PCN’s eight points.
