The Church in a Changing Culture

Part of the Thinking Allowed series of lectures organised by Cairns Church, Milngavie, Glasgow. Start Date:
Thursday 8th March 2012
Start Time:
Cairns Church, Buchanan Street, Milngavie, Glasgow G62 8AW
David G. Hamilton

With reference to cultural developments, both geographically and historically, David will reflect on various models of church practice and belief with a view to articulating a coherent strategy for being an effective Church in the present day.

David G Hamilton is a retired minister of the Church of Scotland, having served in parish ministries in Troon and Bearsden before working for the Board of Education of the Church of Scotland in the development of educational curricula and the training of lay members and clergy for the tasks of Christian education and nurture. He is a past moderator of the European Conference on Christian Education and also of the Consultative Group on Christian Education of CTBI (Churches Together in Britain and Ireland). He has lectured in the United States, Sweden, Estonia and Switzerland, and is a past Hastie Lecturer at the University of Glasgow.
