What is the relationship between belief, worship and discipleship? How do our convictions about God, the universe and human being inform our worship? What would worship shaped by Jesus’ kingdom vision look like and how would it equip us to embrace that vision in our lives? These are some of the questions that John Bell and Jo Love will be exploring in what promises to be an insightful, energizing and enjoyable day. Refreshments will be available as well as a bookstall. NB Registration from 9.15 am

Morning – Subconscious Shaping (10.00 – 1.00 pm)

A prime presumption in many churches is that preaching is what shapes belief and discipleship. The truth is that preaching is only one of a number of factors. What we sing can be far more defining of our theology and self-image as may be the community of which we are a part and everything about it from architecture to audio systems. In this seminar we explore what shapes us unawares and how.

Afternoon – Intelligent Design (2.00 – 4.00 pm)

With apologies to those who would love to debate the existence of God, this seminar will concentrate on what viable alternatives people of faith may use to enable their worship life and discipleship to reflect in the 21st century the priorities of Jesus’ own lifestyle and teaching.

This will draw on some examples of life choices and liturgy which have grown out of the Holy City event in Glasgow.
