Gretta Vosper writes of herself as post-theist, though she will agree to wear the label atheist if it starts a conversation. Her approach to Christianity first gained expression in her book 'With or without God: Why the way we live is more important than what we believe'. Her latest book is‘Amen: What Prayer Can Mean in a World Beyond Belief ‘ is now available. She envisages a church where belief in a supernatural God is not important but in which the value of the church community, with its Sunday services, is still important.
The lecture will be held on Wednesday 24th September at Bloomsbury Central Baptist Church, 235 Shaftesbury Ave, London WC2H 8EP. This interactive map of London churches will allow you to hone in on Bloomsbury Central
The venue will be open from 6.30pm. The closest tube is Tottenham Court Road which is about 10 minutes’ walk from the church. The talk starts at 7.30pm. The entry price includes a glass of wine and some nibbles.
There will be a book stall and Gretta will be signing copies of her two books afterwards. We are selling both With or Without God and Amen at £10 each, which is well under the retail price and in line with the Amazon price before P&P.
The event will be videoed and there will be an opportunity to put your email address on a list of those interested in knowing when the DVD is available. We think the price will be between £8 and £10 depending on the length of the meeting.
The following weekend there will be a conference in Oxford
Plans for an extended tour which included cities in the north of England have had to be cancelled due to financial constraints. We apologise to those who will be disappointed by this. We hope that a return visit will be possible at which these venues will have a priority.<>
