Sea of Faith in the Churches provides a meeting place for those SoF members – and others – who find themselves in the midst of or, more commonly, hovering on the edge of the Christian Church.

Our thinking will focus on the impact on the CoE of women’s leadership and the involvement of the church in our hospitals and in end of life care.

~ Women leaders in the CoE have particular understandings of their roles. These construals have been investigated by Revd Dr Diane Rees, who will explain to us the outcomes of her soon-to-be-published research.

~ Hospital chaplaincy has changed beyond recognition since last century. Revd Meg Burton, long-time hospital chaplain and co-editor of the international Journal of Health Care Chaplaincy has been in the vanguard of these developments and will describe for us the current model. Meg was the chaplain member of the working group that, in response to concerns about the Liverpool Care Pathway, devised new protocols for end-of-life care, and she will tell us about the considerations underlying these.

We hope that conference members will bring questions and concerns to share with each other and with our speakers.

The venue is very close to Notting Hill tube station, but has no adjacent parking. (There is an NCP car park a short distance away.) Its entrance and toilet are wheelchair accessible, and there is a loop system. Hot drinks will be available, but participants are asked to bring (or buy out) their own lunch.
