The Vale of Glamorgan PCN group meets in Barry, in the home of one of our members.  As our numbers are growing steadily we may soon need a larger venue!  We have studied the guides, ‘Living the Questions’ and ‘Saving Jesus’; discussed many books and articles by Jack Spong, Marcus Borg etc. and above all, we value our time of sharing together. Please contact Janet if you wish to come along.  We meet on alternative Wednesday evenings.  The details of the next meeting are published below.  See also our Cardiff Group

Visit by John Churcher, chair of PCN Britain

Last updated on 22nd March, 2012

On Wednesday 28th March the speaker will be Rev’d John Churcher, chair of PCN Britain.  The meeting starts at 6.30pm.  For details of the venue, please conatct Janet.
John believes that to read the Christian Testament at a superficial literalist level serves only to corrupt the original message and life style of Jesus and also the thinking and experiences of the authors of that Testament in the seven decades after Jesus was executed.  “We do need to find new ways of experiencing and communicating the authentic, pre-gentile and certainly pre-Constantine Jesus message to the world in which we live, free from creeds, doctrines, dogma and all the post-4th century words of the Church with which, I believe, Jesus of Nazareth would be extremely puzzled!”
John is the chairman of the Progressive Christianity Network, Britain.  His book, “Setting Jesus Free” was published in 2009.  His next book, “Dying to Live” is published in next month.
