We are a new group which formed at the end of 2010. The initial idea for the group came from two of our members who first met at the 2010 PCN conference in Edinburgh. From there interest grew by word of mouth until we very quickly had enough to make a group viable. We had two ‘getting things sorted’ meetings in November and December and our first study/discussion meeting took place on January 6th. We meet on the first Thursday of each month starting with tea/coffee at 7.30 pm and ending reasonably promptly at 9.15 pm.  The group averages around 13 people though we have had interest from about 20. We meet in the village of Market Lavington at the house of one of our members. The age and background of the membership varies widely: some people have been Christians all their lives, some have been Christians for just a few years and some are agnostic!  The main thing is that we are open to all whatever age or background and we offer a warm welcome to anyone who wishes to give us a try. If you are interested please use the contact details above.

We are currently studying the Living the Questions2 DVD which we have been able to rent from PCN. Watching the DVD followed by open discussion of the associated questions forms the bulk of our meeting time. Leadership of the meeting rotates among those who wish to have a go, so no two meeting will be the same. Our last meeting ended with Lectio Divina, a contemplation on a short reading. It was new to a number of us at the meeting and proved to be very interesting. As a group we seem to have come a long way in a very short time –  it has been both exciting and challenging. The group gives open minded people the opportunity to speak frankly about their faith (or not speak at all) in a safe and supportive environment. It’s good fun, too!
