The groups meet in our sitting room: practical limit 18. This autumn we plan to meet on Tuesdays Sept. 9 and 23, Oct. 7 and 28, Nov. 11 and 25, Dec. 9 with a similar set of six dates between New Year and Easter 2009.

Our conversations will be based on the thirty-six very short and very readable chapters of Adrian Smith’s book Tomorrow’s Christian: a new framework for Christian living (O Books, 2005, £9.99). Highly recommended even if you don’t want to join a group.

We shall pick up where we left off, at Chapter 11 - a Sex-equality Person and aim as always to keep 2 or 3 chapters ahead.

The lunchtime group eats picnic lunches together from 12.00, moves on to discussion by 12.25, and finishes promptly at 1.45. The evening group meets at 7.00 and ends when it ends - usually around 8.30: Tea and coffee at both groups.

The lunchtime group goes back for many years, but its present form (with members coming up to 20 miles and ranging from Catholic to Quaker to none) only started to emerge from a chance encounter with Jack Spong’s twelve theses in the Guardian in 2001. It can be quite a squash!

The evening group was created for PCN members in January 2007, and is still small enough to offer a good choice of where to sit.

Phone or email Joan or Hylton if you would like to know more, and let us know if you’re planning to come.
