Hello, my nanme is Karen and I live in Sheffield. I attend a very traditional Church of England church and while I love the church where I worship I’ve found, for some years now, that the services just don’t ‘sit right’ with me anymore.

I stumbled upon the PCN by accident, had never heard of it before, and the 8 points were like a breath of fresh air!
So I’m looking forward to getting to know you all and having a place to discuss Christianity of the 21st century!

Hi Karen,

It’s a bit quiet here, but some of us check in every now and again to see if anyone’s posting.  PCN is more active than the impression this forum gives at the moment. I meet more and more people looking for an approach to Christianity that fits better with today’s critical thinking and understanding.

Hi Karen Jane!
Welcome to the PCN-Britain web site! Hope that you will take the opportunity of becoming a member - we depend upon our membership income both to help to keep alive and to develop the progressive Christian voice in Britain! There are other websites speaking with similar voices - some are linked to this website. Have you been to St Mark’s in Sheffield? If the Eight Points are fresh air, then try St Mark’s! John [PCN-Britain Chair]

Hello all. I too am a ‘newbie’. I’m relatively new to Christianity in a certain sense. However, I’ve recently realised that it’s been knocking at my door for quite a few years. I have to say, the realisation the I am a christian has been nothing more than a release for me. I at last feel as though I’ve connected with my purpose in life and, with pcn, I feel I have found my true home. I look forward to debate and joining you in your conferences.

Hello everyone.  I’m Mary and I am a newbie too.  You know, there should be a welcome wagon for us newbies.

Welcome Mary - but what would you like on a welcome wagon? Membership of PCNBritain [as opposed to contributing to the forum] automatically triggers a welcome letter, copy of the latest Newsletter, etc!

Hello all,

another newbie here. I am currently on the fringes of the Church but have come back to a Christian faith after 15 years away. I felt I was alone in my somewhat unorthodox faith and readiness to question but am very encouraged to have been able to share my journey so far with quite a few. I am currently reading Diarmaid MacCulloch’s A History of Christianity and have picked up on his translation of “Israel” being He that wrestles with God which makes me think my path has atleast a little element of holiness in it.

And another newbie here.  I’ve checked out the PCN website a few times and thought I would take the time to join the message board and possibly the wider network.

Hi - Always a pleasure to welcome new participants to the forum.  All comments are gratefully received; we’re aiming to redesign the forum and the website in the next three months.
