Seven members of the Hub have booked to hear Val Webb’s talk on ‘In Defence of Doubt’ in Newbury on the 17th of April.

The Spring series of ‘Space in the City’ talks in Winchester are entitled ‘Unfolding Images’.
Different speakers will address the point of intersection between art and spirituality. The venue for this series is St Lawrence in the Square Church. The dates are every Wednesday from 29th April to 27th May inclusive. The talks start at 12.30 and finish at approximately 1 pm. Sandwiches are served afterwards and usually three or four members of the Hub stay for these. .

One of the speakers in the Spring 2014 series of Space in the City was the Chancellor of St Paul’s Cathedral, Canon Mark Oakley. On Saturday 9th May he will address the question ‘Is Religion a Work of Art?’ at the PCN Spring Conference in London.

As usual Modern Church and the Sea of Faith Network hold their residential Annual Conferences in July.
The theme for Modern Church is ‘Seeking the Sacred: Christianity in dialogue with other religions and the world’. The venue is the High Leigh Conference Centre, Hoddesdon, Herts. The dates are Monday to Thursday 13th to 16th July. The cost including meals is £220 (standard room) or £295 (en suite). For details see the Modern Church web site.
The theme for Sea of Faith is ‘Out of Our Minds:what can we offer towards a healthy world?’ The keynote speakers are two non-theists, David Boulton (Quaker) and Andy Pakula (Unitarian minister). The dates are Thursday to Saturday, 23rd to 25th July.
